Cricket News sort by Sri Lanka tour of Australia 2012-13

On Friday at Brisbane, Australia registered their third lowest total in one-dayers when they were bowled out for 74 by Sri Lanka in 26.4 fours. In an eminently forgettable performance by their top and middle-order, none of the batsmen from the top eight could get into double figures.

That the third ODI between Australia and Sri Lanka at Brisbane was dominated by bowlers would be an understatement. Sixteen wickets fell on the day, the entire match lasted less than 50 overs and the total match aggregate did not even cross 150.

Sri Lanka just managed to pull off a victory in the Gabba ODI despite the target being as low as 75! The pitch at the Gabba for the Third ODI was such that as many as 16 wickets tumbled down in less than 50 overs of action.

Although Australia were stunned by Sri Lanka in the second ODI at Adelaide, it had more to do with the lack of experience in their batting than sensational performance by the Lankan bowlers.

Stung by a massive defeat in the Second ODI at Adelaide, the Australian Selectors have recalled the trio of Michael Clarke, David Warner and Wicket Keeper Matthew Wade in the squad for the next two matches at Brisbane and Sydney.

As mentioned prior to the beginning of the one-day series, Sri Lanka had a much better chance of doing well in the shorter format of the game even though they were blanked in the Tests. And their overwhelming victory at the Adelaide Oval justified this stance.

Sri Lanka eased to a huge 8-wicket win with as many as 59 balls to spare to level the 5-match series at the Adelaide Oval. It was a poor Aussie batting show that helped the Lankans to bounce back in the series.

Australia crushed Sri Lanka by a huge margin of 107 runs in the opening ODI at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The victory was set up by Man of the Match Phil Hughes’ century on ODI Debut and executed by seamer Clint McKay.
